'Take The fish out of the Equation' is an experiment involving Ella's Artwork, Clown Props and Tools to formally question silent cinema slapstick and the body in performance. And the challenge of showing work in a large glass cube. Taking inspiration from Heath Robinson contraptions and Buster Keaton's one week...

Ella Golt aka Ella The Great is a professional Clown and multimedia Artist from Hammersmith and Fulham , Her work explores our innate joy in discovery , Imaginatively subverting materials and references. Ella creates imaginary worlds with one foot firmly on the ground and arms stretch 'far out' , Playful imagery, characters and sculptural apparatus.

"To formally question slap stick you have to break it down to its vital components
Boiler suit Poster Bucket And perhaps a ladder And possibly a well constituted plank.
What's the constitution of the plank . To be straight !"

A Playful and Sensitive installation by Ella Golt MFA Slade

Ella Golt's work playfully subverts materials and references, on a psychological quest for sense and order, through sculpture, drawing and video. Informed by theatrical performance, utilitarian apparatus and decorative finery, she makes work that sits comfortably on the stage and stands in the gallery. Experimentations between the life of a still object and one with a performative purpose, and the physical role of the body in performance, are themes explored throughout her sculptural practice

Currently exhibiting at Notting Hill Visual Arts Festival joint show at             The Tabernacle , London W11
